Diagnose before you buy

Common symptoms and what usually causes them

You do not need a part number to call us. Describe what the machine is doing and we will help you narrow it down — buying the right part once is cheaper than buying two.

Common forklift parts symptoms and likely causes
Symptom	Where we would look first
Mast drifts down under load	Lift cylinder seal kit and a new lowering/holding valve. Bring the serial number — seal sizes change mid-model-year.
Truck cranks but will not start on LP	Usually the LPG regulator/converter or the lock-off solenoid, not the engine.
Chain is stretched or a link is stiff	Leaf chain kit, in pairs, plus the anchor pins. Never replace one side only.
Brake pedal goes to the floor	Wheel cylinders first, master cylinder second — and inspect the drums while it is apart.
Steering is heavy or wandering	Steer cylinder seals, orbitrol, or worn king pins and steer axle bushings.
Overheating after 30 minutes	Radiator, water pump and thermostat — plus a new cap. Cheap parts, expensive downtime.

Do you carry parts for my forklift make and model?

Almost certainly. As an authorized TVH supplier we reach a catalog of more than 37 million known part references covering every major lift truck brand — Toyota, Hyster, Yale, Crown, Clark, Caterpillar, Mitsubishi, Nissan/UniCarriers, Komatsu, Doosan, Linde, Raymond and more. If a part exists for your truck, we can almost always source it. Call us with the make, model and serial number and we will confirm in a few minutes.

What information do you need to look up a forklift part?

Three things get it right the first time: the make and model, the serial number off the data plate, and either the OEM part number or a clear description of the failure. Serial number matters more than people expect — manufacturers change suppliers mid-production run, so two trucks with the same model number can take different seals.

Are aftermarket forklift parts as good as OEM?

For the vast majority of wear items — filters, seals, brake shoes, hydraulic hose, tires, chain, electrical components — quality aftermarket parts are manufactured to the same specifications and frequently in the same factories as the OEM part, at a lower price. How fast can I get the part?

Many common items ship the same day they are ordered. We will give you a realistic date on the phone rather than an optimistic one — knowing a part is four days out is more useful than being told two and waiting five.

Do you sell to individuals, or only to companies with accounts?

Both. We sell to national fleets, to single-truck operations, and to the owner-operator replacing a water pump in his own yard on a Saturday. Nobody needs a minimum order to talk to us.

Do you ship outside of California?

Yes — we ship parts nationwide. We are based in Lake Elsinore and most of our local customers are across Riverside and San Bernardino counties, but a large share of our orders go out by freight and parcel across the country.
